About me
My passion for physical activity started when I was a kid and initiated my journey in Chinese martial arts. Very early, at the age of 17, I started teaching these arts as my full-time job, and that made me drop my studies in civil engineering to start university in physical education. So, in essence, I am not a trainer; I am a teacher or a physical educator. Moving to Canada in 2010, I started a new career in fitness, and I have been serving Toronto as a certified personal trainer by the Canadian Fitness Professionals (Canfitpro) since 2011. My academic background in physical education allows me to use scientific knowledge regarding movement, biology, physiology, anatomy, psychology of exercise, nutrition and assessment, planning, programming and training methodologies to make your training experience with me more than just a workout but a learning experience about yourself.
Besides physical education, I also hold a diploma in physical rehabilitation, which allows me to ensure the use of proper injury prevention techniques during training or help you get back on your feet after injuries or post-surgical phase and manage symptoms of chronic or degenerative conditions such as back pain, osteoarthritis and Parkinson's disease.
In addition, I have accumulated quite a collection of specializations, including functional range conditioning training (a scientific method designed to improve high-performance movement in sports and exercises), stress management and resilience (which gives me the knowledge to help cope with stress using mental exercises and mindful techniques), health eating nutrition, post-pregnancy training and seniors exercises.
